Want (เอา อยาก) in Thai
อยาก (yàak) means ‘want’ in Thai. However, you don’t use this word exactly like the word want in English in some cases. This blog shows you how to use this word correctly. Moreover, you will learn the word เอา (ʔaw) which does not literally means want in Thai, but it can be translated as want in some situations.

- อยาก (yàak) as to have an extremely strong desire for something. This word is commonly used when an addict is craving for a drug, alcohol, etc.

- อยาก (yàak) used with the word ได้ (dâay) as to want to get something or to want something. ได้ (dâay) literally means to get.

เอา (ʔaw) = to want something (at a shop or restaurant)
- เอา (ʔaw) used to say when you want something from a shop or a restaurant. Moreover, it is used when offering something to someone or when taking an offer from someone.

– (chán) ʔaw chaa rɔ́ɔn 1 kæ̂æw
