ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun) means thank you in Thai. You will use ครับ (khráp) or ค่ะ (khâ) after it to make it sound polite.

ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun) is the most common way to say thank you in Thai. You will say it with a polite final particle ครับ (khráp) for male speaker and ค่ะ (khâ) for female speaker.

You use the word ที่ (thîi) after the word ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun) when you want to thank someone for doing something.
Structure(1) : ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun) + ที่ (thîi) + verb
– khɔ̀ɔpkhun thîi sɨ́ɨ khɔ̌ɔŋ-khwǎn hây.
– Thank you for buying the present for (me).

ขอบคุณสำหรับ…(khɔ̀ɔpkhun sǎmràp…) – thank you for something
When you want to thank someone because they gave you something, you will use the word สำหรับ (sǎmràp) after the word ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun).
Structure(2) : ขอบคุณ (khɔ̀ɔpkhun) + สำหรับ (sǎmràp) + something
– khɔ̀ɔpkhun sǎmràp khɔ̌ɔŋ-khwǎn ná.
– Thank you for the present.
– khɔ̀ɔpkhun sǎmràp khwaam hùaŋ-yay.
